Privacy Policy

This explains how www.communityvineyardmanchester.org.uk uses any information you give to us via our website, and the ways in which we protect your privacy.

The Data Protection Act 1998

Vineyard Churches UK is a Data Controller under the Data Protection Act 1998 – Registration No 1162063. We hold information for the purposes of maintaining the Register of affiliated churches, as well as for the oversight, governance and support of pastors. Vineyard Churches UK complies with the data protection principles set out in the Data Protection Act 1998 in relation to personal data which you give to us via our website to the extent that the Act requires us to do so.

Personal Data is held for purposes including the processing for advertising or marketing for Vineyard Churches UK and only in connection with this business, which may include the sharing of personal data with other companies in the same group as the Data Controller. (For example: Vineyard Direct, Vineyard Music and Vineyard Publishing.) The personal data will not be kept after the relationship between Vineyard Churches UK ends, unless and for so long as it is necessary to do so for advertising, marketing and public relations. These principles restrict the powers of a data controller to disclose to third parties personal data, which it is processing. Anyone processing personal data must comply with the eight enforceable principles of good practice.

The Data Protection Act 1998 states that data must be:

· Fairly and lawfully processed;
· Processed for limited purposes;
· Adequate, relevant and not excessive;
· Accurate;
· Not kept longer than necessary;
· Processed in accordance with the data subject’s rights;
· Secure;
· Not transferred to countries without adequate protection.

Personal data covers both facts and opinions about the individual. It also includes information regarding the intentions of the data controller towards the individual, although in some limited circumstances exemptions will apply. With processing, the definition is far wider than before. For example, it incorporates the concepts of ‘obtaining’, ‘holding’ and ‘disclosing’.

What information do we collect via the website?

We collect three main types of information from visitors to our website:

· Feedback (general questions and specific feedback on the website);
· Representations on Schemes and Orders; and
· Site usage information (from session cookies and log files).

1. Feedback, questions and comments
You can send us your comments to our email feedback address or from our website questionnaire. If you send an email or letter to us or call us for information, once we have replied to you, we keep a record of your messages for three months for reference and audit purposes, after which it is deleted.

2. Notification of changes to entries on the Vineyard Churches UK register of affiliated churches and Senior Pastors
E-mail requests to update or correct details displayed on the online Register of affiliated churches are generally dealt with by the office. The types of changes they deal with include changes to correspondent and website or e-mail contact details for a church and Senior Pastor.
All E-mails are deleted once the item is action-ed.
We will confirm that the requested changes have been made if you specifically request us to do so.
